European Bonnet 


Hello! This was a replication pattern request from reddit. I hope you enjoy it!

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn, 250yds. (Sample is in
      Red Heart Super Saver).
6mm hook. I used a resin Furls hook.
Stitch markers 
Tapestry needle 
Scissors 
Measuring tape 


Gauge:
4"x4" square = TBD


Adult Size S(M,L)

Pattern is worked in multiples of 6 + 11


Stitch & Abbreviations Key:
Ch - chain stitch 
Chsp - chain space 
Dc - double crochet 
DcV - (dc, ch2, dc)
Fan - (4dc, ch2, 4dc)
Half-Fan - Ch3, 3dc
Sk - skip
Slst - slip stitch 
Tc - triple crochet 
Tc2tog - triple crochet 2 together 
T/V - (tc, ch3, tc)

Row 1) Ch 41(47, 53), dc in 6th ch from the hook, (Sk2, *DcV) x10(12, 14) times, sk2, dc, ch2, slst in last st, turn.

Work in chsp's from here on.

Row 2) Half fan, Fan in next 10(12, 14) chsp, 3dc in last chsp, dc in top of ch3, turn.

Row 3) Ch5, *{(dc, ch2, dc), ch4} to second to last chsp, dc in top of ch3 from previous row, turn.

Repeat Rows:

Row 4A) Half fan in space from ch3, *fan to last, 3dc in starting chsp, dc in top of 3rd ch from previous row, turn.

Row 4B) Ch 5, *{(dc, ch2, dc), ch3} to second to last chsp, ch3, dc in 3rd ch, turn.

Repeat 4A then 4B 6(7, 8) times or to desired length. End on row 4B, do not cut yarn. 


Ch 51, slst in the second ch from the hook, and in each st back to bonnet. Slst to dc from previous row. Rotate to start next row.


Row 16 (18, 20) repeat row 4A, do not cut yarn.


Ch 51, slst in the second ch from the hook, and in each st back to bonnet. Slst to side of dc from previous row. Finish.


Turn wrong side out. Seam top of bonnet from the first and last chains from the foundation chain to the middle. There she be an even number of fans on each side. Use mattress stitch and only one loop from each ch.


From right side, attach yarn in the side of second fan row to the right of your seam. Do not ch, 4dc in next chsp, 3dc in next chsp, tc2tog in the first foundation ch and the last foundation ch, 3dc in chsp, 4dc in chsp, slst to side of second fan row. Finish.


Weave in ends.
